I realize now
that true Spirituality
I am human
and not a soul imprisoned
in a body.
is not just about
on my inner self
ignores the crucial elements of
friendship, sexuality, health, family, community, etc.
all vital to my growth.
I seek a total Integration
of all aspects of my life and experiences.
is not just about
the Care of my Soul.
and Care for Each Other
is a key aspect
of my Spiritual Growth.
Though many have argued
through the centuries
about the relative merits of
a Contemplative versus an Active Life,
there is no gap between them.
My Actions in Life,
indeed flow from
the quality of my contemplative life.
I dare not refuse
to help another in need
because I am in the midst of meditation.
I have learned that
holds in balance
both transcendent and immanent.
For my Spirituality
to be authentic,
I must be in the world about me
while accepting that
It is not all that there is.
God is more intimate to me
even than I am
while being greater than anything
I can imagine.
For authentic Spiritual Growth
I do know that
being a follower of Jesus
means I find my natural home
My Spiritual Growth
must come through
the experiences, wisdom, counsel, and tradition
So, it is not
body or soul
me or others,
immanent or transcendent God,
contemplative or active life;
My True Spirituality
